The labor share of gross domestic product (GDP) is the estimated total compensation of employees given as a percent of GDP. It provides information about the relative share of output paid as compensation to employees, compared to the share paid to capital.

The median across all reporting countries is 46.2%, and the mean is 47.8%.
The gap between the highest and lowest reporting country is a factor of about 7.
Over the past decade 125 countries rose and 58 fell. The largest increase was in Libya (up 137.9%), and the largest decrease in Venezuela (down 74.4%).
