What the numbers show
SDG indicator 8.5.2: Unemployment rate (previous ILO definition - ICLS13) (15+) is currently reported for 179 countries. The highest value is 32.28 in South Africa; the lowest is 0.081 in Tajikistan.
The median across all reporting countries is 5.17, and the mean is 6.46.
The gap between the highest and lowest reporting country is a factor of about 399.
Over the past decade 62 countries rose and 116 fell. The largest increase was in Cambodia (up 733.3%), and the largest decrease in Tajikistan (down 96.3%).
