What the numbers show
Labour force participation rate for persons ages 25 to 54 (previous ILO definition - ICLS13) is currently reported for 82 countries. The highest value is 97.38 in Tanzania; the lowest is 51.05 in Iran.
The median across all reporting countries is 84.16, and the mean is 81.91.
The gap between the highest and lowest reporting country is a factor of about 2.
Over the past decade 61 countries rose and 20 fell. The largest increase was in Angola (up 65.3%), and the largest decrease in Kenya (down 14.4%).

About this data
With the aim of promoting international comparability, statistics presented on ILOSTAT are based on standard international definitions wherever feasible and may differ from official national figures. This series is based on the 13th ICLS definitions. For time series comparability, it includes countries that have implemented the 19th ICLS standards, for which data are also available in the Work Statistics -- 19th ICLS (WORK) database. The prime-age labour force participation rate is the labour force of persons aged 25 to 54 years divided by the population aged 25 to 54 years. The labour force is the sum of all persons of working age who are employed and those who are unemployed.
