What the numbers show
Total weekly hours worked of employed persons (ILO modelled estimates) is currently reported for 188 countries. The highest value is 32.86 million in China; the lowest is 1,010 in Tonga.
The median across all reporting countries is 158,289, and the mean is 800,163.
The gap between the highest and lowest reporting country is a factor of about 32,527.
Over the past decade 153 countries rose and 35 fell. The largest increase was in Uganda (up 109.2%), and the largest decrease in United States Virgin Islands (down 20.0%).
