Average monthly earnings of employees (15+) is currently reported for 99 countries. The highest value is 8.58 million in Viet Nam; the lowest is 257.59 in Timor-Leste.
The median across all reporting countries is 6,188, and the mean is 300,404.
The gap between the highest and lowest reporting country is a factor of about 33,307.
Over the past decade 92 countries rose and 7 fell. The largest increase was in Zimbabwe (up 128,313.0%), and the largest decrease in Venezuela, Bolivarian Republic of (down 67.5%).

With the aim of promoting international comparability, statistics presented on ILOSTAT are based on standard international definitions wherever feasible and may differ from official national figures. The earnings of employees relate to the gross remuneration in cash and in kind paid to employees, as a rule at regular intervals, for time worked or work done together with remuneration for time not worked, such as annual vacation, other type of paid leave or holidays. Earnings exclude employers' contributions in respect of their employees paid to social security and pension schemes and also the benefits received by employees under these schemes.
